We firmly believe that prayer changes things. We want to hear about your needs and lift them up in prayer with you.
God did not make us to walk this journey alone. We offer both small groups and individual care to support those going through grief, loss, or other life challenges.

What To Expect

We are a family helping the people of Arlington discover the real Jesus in the everyday stuff of life.

What's a service like?

Our service starts with worship, announcements, special music and offering, and then the message, ending with a final hymn and the benediction. Because we believe the Bible is error-free, you can count on hearing biblically-based, life-applicable truth at either service. Whether you’ve grown up in church, haven’t attended a service in years, or don’t have a church background, you’ll find a friendly group of people here.

We have Worship services at 8:30 & 11:00 am on Sunday (both services are the same in style and content – you can read more about that here). We also have a Sunday School hour meet at 10:00am.

Where do my kids go?

Here at Atonement Free Lutheran Church children are very welcome participants in the regular worship services at Atonement; in fact, we encourage all parents to have their children in the regular services at as early an age as possible. Some of the greatest benefits to children come from seeing their parents worship God and participating in the service together (check out our blog: How Can Children Sit Through Church?).  At the same time, if there is a need or desire to remove the children from the worship service, feel free to use either of these: Our entry foyer, our ‘family room’, or our Staffed Nursery. (Check out this article if you have little children: To You Who Bring Small Children to Church)

What Should I Wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

Worship

Part of our vision statement at Atonement is “God-honoring worship.”  Different people have different ideas and preferences in music.  Our aim has been to select songs that are honoring to God, proclaim Biblical truth clearly and are edifying in worship.  We seek to strike a balance between familiar classic hymns from our heritage of faith over centuries past and incorporating newer songs of worship into the life of the congregation.

Come Visit!

We love seeing new faces and familiar faces every Sunday. Feel free to come take a look for yourself on Sunday mornings at 8:30am or 11:00am. We love to connect with people after the service too if you would like to specifically connect with Pastor Rick, or many people hang around for up to an hour after the service to just have a cup of coffee and chat in the foyer. Community is big at Atonement, so we’d love to connect you with like-minded people if you’re interested!
