Thanks for checking out our website!
Atonement Free Lutheran is a neighborhood church with a welcoming, family atmosphere. Atonement is committed to proclaiming freedom and new life in Jesus Christ, standing strong on His Word and serving those around us in His love.
Visiting a new church can be intimidating
What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit.
What's a service like?
Our service starts with worship, announcements, special music and offering, and then the message, ending with a final hymn and the benediction. Because we believe the Bible is error-free, you can count on hearing biblically-based, life-applicable truth at either service. Whether you've grown up in church or haven't attended a service in years, you'll find a friendly group of people here. We have Worship services at 8:30 & 11:00 am on Sundays during the School Year and 8:30 & 10:30 during the Summer (both services are the same in style and content - you can read more about that here). We also have Sunday School at 9:45 where we meet in the sanctuary for a 15 minute opening together at 9:45 am. From there we dismiss to individual classes. Also come by early for some coffee and fellowship.
Where do my kids go?
Here at Atonement Free Lutheran Church children are very welcome participants in the regular worship services at Atonement; in fact, we encourage all parents to have their children in the regular services at as early an age as possible. Some of the greatest benefits to children come from seeing their parents worship God and participating in the service together. (Check out these tips: How Can Children Sit Through Church?) At the same time, if there is a need or desire to remove the children from the worship service, feel free to use either of these: Our entry foyer, our 'family room' or our Staffed Nursery. (Check out this article if you have little children)
What Should I Wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. In the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress.
We look forward to meeting you!
